About Course
The Site Superintendent is the shepherd who steers construction projects to completion. They’re responsible for overseeing all site activities, scheduling and managing all the trades in sequence on site, reviewing and keeping up to date on all changes to construction drawings, and ensuring those changes are duly implemented.
In this course, you’ll learn how to manage a construction site like a pro. You’ll be shown how to create a site-focused shorter-term schedule, which is used in tandem with the Project Manager’s overall schedule. You’ll learn about how to mitigate and handle issues on site, liaising with engineers and foremen to resolve those issues, and using the RFI (Request for Information) process to get further clarification when required. You’ll learn about maintaining safety and cleanliness on the site to avoid infractions that can cause serious injuries and costly delays. You’ll also be introduced to industry standard construction management software, preparing you for real world construction projects.
By the end of this course, you’ll have a firm grasp of what a Site Superintendent does and why this role is vital to construction projects. You’ll have a tangible checklist of tasks that are essential to managing a job site that you can use day-to-day in your role as a Site Superintendent, Assistant Site Superintendent, or Site Coordinator.
